A simple and rapid method for dosage calculation in patients with renal impairment by the aid of computer is described. This method is based on the linear relationship between creatinine clearance (ml/min) and the constant renal elimination rate (Km). This good correlation between creatinine clearance and creatinine concentration allows the direct prediction of drug dosage from estimation of serum creatinine concentration.
In this paper we can calculated drug and creatinine clearance (ml/min) for some important drugs like antibiotics, antihypertensive and hypoglycemic drugs and can determine the drug dosage for patients suffering from renal insufficiency or renal failure.
